6TH COMMUNIQUE

A RESOLUTION ENACTED AND REACHED AT THE 6TH JOINT NATIONAL CENTRAL WORKING COUNCIL (NCWC) MEETING OF NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CRIMINOLOGISTS AND SECURITY PRACTITIONERS OF NIGERIA (NACSP) HELD ON THE 11TH DAY OF APRIL, 2021 AT ITS INTELLIGENCE HEADQUARTERS, ABUJA.

PREAMBLE

We are the members of the above named body, an umbrella organization of Criminologists, Security Experts and related disciplines, academic world and student bodies, which strive at professionalism, a non-profit making educational organization whose membership pursuit is scholastic, scientific, metaphysic, cultural/traditional and professional knowledge concerning the measurement, etiology, consequences, detection, prevention, control and treatment of crime and delinquency including the victims of these vices.

We are poised to harness adequate intelligence on National Security issues from all available academic and non-academic avenues with a view to curbing all manner of criminalities and security challenges in the country via intelligence policing system. NACSP is a community oriented police service (COPS) corps and the brainchild of Nigeria Society for Criminology (NSC) led by Prof. Etannibi Alemika, Prof. O. Kayode-Adedeji, Prof. Hauwau, Evelyn Yusuf and its Founding Members.

We unanimously resolved as follows:-

  1. That, during the 6th National Central Working Council (NCWC) meeting held at the Intelligence Headquarters in Abuja on the 11th of April, 2021, the Association rectified and adopted the 2020 finance Audited report.
  1. That, the joint Council unanimously rectified and adopted the 2021 Budget proposal of the Association.                         
  1. That, at the 6th National central Working Council (NCWC) meeting jointly held by students, graduates and Security Experts, We unanimously scheduled the 4th National Conference of Criminologists and Security Practitioners of Nigeria (NACSP) on the 13th -14th of August, 2021 in Abuja, with the theme: “NIGERIA AT 60: QUEST FOR HOLISTIC APROACH TO A CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE SYSTEM FOR NATIONAL SECURITY.”
  1. That, a seventeen-man conference organizing committee members was constituted alongside with five sub-committees: – Induction Committee, Security Vetting Board, Social Media Committee, Pageantry Committee and Late Professor Femi Quiz Competition Committee, to oversee the smooth organization of the 4th National conference.
  1. That, Cops. Dominic Ogar was appointed as assistant secretary of the Association.
  1. That, the body resolved that the National Executive Council (NEC) of the students wing should conduct elections into the National Executive Council of National Students Association of Criminology and Security Studies (NASACSS) before the forthcoming national conference or stands dissolve to give equal opportunity to newly elected departmental Presidents in various institutions to serve in that capacity for 12 calendar months.
  1. That, we unanimously resolved to produce criminology and security studies handbook as a guide to all and sundry.
  1. That, the Association strongly condemned the nonchalance attitude and gross insubordination displayed by criminology students of Federal polytechnic Adamawa which led to wanton destruction of school property and warned them forthwith via white paper to the department.
  1. That, the Maiden Edition (volume2), Journal of Criminologists and Security Practitioners of Nigeria (JOCASPON), 2021 Calendar and stickers were distributed to departmental Captains/Presidents to deliver to their respective departments.

CONCLUSION
These resolutions are the laws of the Association enacted by the Council for the good governance, peace and progress of this Association and are binding on all members and stakeholders.
